▶ About This Opportunity

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define the vision and objectives of the data engineering program, ensuring alignment with the organization's data strategy and business goals.
  • Develop a comprehensive data roadmap that outlines the prioritized data initiatives, data pipelines, and analytics projects to be undertaken within the program.
  • Manage and maintain budget forecast for +$10M program
  • Plan for resourcing and funding data program based on comprehensive road map of projects.
  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning sessions for data engineering teams, ensuring that data-related features and projects are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Support teams in project planning by defining and estimating work including defining of tasks, stories.
  • Collaborate with data architects and designers to ensure that data solutions align with architectural standards and best practices.
  • Work closely with Agile teams to ensure they are aligned with program objectives and have the necessary resources and support to deliver their commitments.
  • Ensure that the data engineering program operates in alignment with Lean-Agile principles, including a focus on customer-centric data solutions, transparency in data processes, and alignment with business needs. Guiding and coaching the project teams in technology as and when applicable.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within data engineering teams, encouraging them to optimize data processes and enhance data quality.
  • Playing a leadership role for the overall project/program success

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, project management, or related roles
  • 3+ years experience with data lake cloud environment, large-scale data migration and/or enterprise reporting projects.
  • A robust background with over 5 years of experience in data engineering/data warehousing, including exposure to various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a strong track record of driving data projects to success.
  • Extensive expertise in Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience, including a deep understanding of metrics, especially within the context of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Over 5 years of experience in using project tracking software, such as Jira, to manage and monitor data engineering projects efficiently.
  • 2+ years of experience facilitating estimation and planning sessions for the creation of reliable and practical plans for the next Program Increment, as well as supporting Product Management Teams in high-level estimation of the product roadmap.
  • Should be self-driven, proactive with the capacity to act with urgency (someone who can take initiative and drive to complete tasks and does not need daily directions)
  • Strong investigation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information to all stakeholders of the project status updates, roadmaps, timeline updates, risks, and issues.  This would include executive status reports and project dashboards.
  • Proven experience in assisting Product Managers/Owners, System Architects, and stakeholders to ensure alignment between strategy and execution.

Education And Experience:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
  • YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 12+ years
  • YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 8+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools - Git (Gitlab), Jira and Confluence
  • Exposure to retail industry, experience with e-commerce applications
