▶ About This Opportunity
7-Eleven needs highly motivated Sr. DevOps engineers to create, tune, maintain and build Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines for one of the applications that drive their retail business. This role is key to 7-Eleven’s continued market dominance and requires people that are passionate about automation and seeking perfection in their development. As a member of the DevOps team, you will be working closely with different pods of Application Development, Product Owners, and Production Support.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Maximize usability, accessibility, and customer experience.
- Lead planning, implementation of infrastructure capacity, monitoring and elasticity of the overall platform
- Oversees the scheduling, control, and progress of system design, development, and installation activities
- Coordinates between internal and external resources, ensuring effective communication between all groups and individuals involved in projects.
- Partner with development teams to improve services through monitoring and release procedures.
- Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of our customer’s needs, and innovating for continual improvement.
- Participate and/or lead incident calls to help resolve production level issues.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
- Documentation of knowledge and processes, such as runbooks.
- Conduct post-incident reviews to document findings and then take actions on their learnings.
- Excel in individual contribution under minimal supervision.
- Setup the docker container, create docker images, deploy Kubernetes cluster, cluster management for jobs, deployments, and services AWS.
- Deliver an exceptional experience through the creation of environments and tools that allow organizations to deliver unique and cutting-edge products to customers.
- Work closely with the development teams to brainstorm, design, and implement technical build and deployment solutions.
- Deploy infrastructure applications and software defined networking through CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledgeable in cloud platforms, micro-services architecture, CI/CD solutions, containers, DevOps principles, automation & configuration management tools.
- Participate in On-Call rotations to support a 24/7 production environment.
EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 10+ years
YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: NA
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, ITIL
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Production experience with container orchestration, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, desired state configuration management, or similar DevOps/SRE tooling.
- Experience managing public cloud platform, and functions FinOps, InfoSec
- Experience with tools/products such as: Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, Kubernetes, GKE/GCP, AWS (Preferred), Azure, Elastic Stack, Jenkins, Concourse, BOSH, or similar DevOps Computing tools or products.
- Experience with MACH (Microservices, APIs-first, Cloud-native, and Headless) architecture using Java, Spring boot.
- Experience with traditional RDBMS like Oracle and NOSQL like Cassandra or MongoDB or Apache Ignite
- This role is based in Irving TX 7-Eleven offices. Candidate must be local or open to relocation.
