Senior Utilities Analyst

▶ About This Opportunity
The Sr. Analyst, Utility Operations role will support department leadership objectives through strategic analysis of large datasets within the energy program, which includes 14,000 locations and 40,000 accounts. The candidate will need to be highly organized and will require analytical skills necessary for trending and variance analysis. The role will require someone who can work independently with little supervision, while being able to collaborate cross-functionally with key internal and external stakeholders.
- The Sr. Analyst must be very detail oriented and must leverage their critical thinking and problem solving skills to strategically audit 450,000 utility invoices annually using variance reporting tools and trend analysis, while achieving cost reduction objectives that impact store profitability.
- Identify use/cost anomalies/variances and analyze root cause through independent investigation with internal and external stakeholders. Quickly take corrective actions to mitigate impacts from issues occurring at our Stores.
- Negotiate with our utility partners to de-escalate potential disconnections, capture leak adjustment credits, deposit and late fee waivers, resolve meter issues, and to correct or refund other miscellaneous billing related errors.
- Manage utility disconnections, by quickly assessing the situation and resolving any issues to immediately restore service to our Stores and provide constant communication to our operations team.
- Build Strong relationships with 7-Eleven's internal and external partners; including our utility and bill pay partners, finance, accounting, construction, operations, and facilities maintenance teams.
- Develop and implement process controls to maintain utility data accuracy, which impact strategic performance metrics and carbon footprint reporting.
- Manage utiltiy account open/close activity for 450 stores annaully, collaborating with various utility providers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive utility database by setting up new accounts, validating first/final invoices and properly inactivating closed accounts.
- Education: Bachelors/4 year degree
- Experience: 5 years, Utility Conservation/Analytics, Project Management, Retail Operations
- Knowledge of energy related engineering specifications for small box retail or similar applications.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications and thorough working knowledge of database concepts and common applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and time-management skills; the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple, competing priorities to achieve high levels of performance and deliver sustainable results.
