We are seeking motivated and curious individuals to join our Supply Chain & Distribution Center Management Team. In this role, you'll contribute to the day-to-day operations of our supply chain network, learning how to apply technology and continuous improvement practices to drive efficiency and support team goals. The Data Sciences team is responsible for defining 7-Eleven Supply Chain future operating model across the full value chain from vendor to customer. This team is responsible for developing optimization, simulation, machine learning models and niche data science techniques to evaluate product flow from vendor to omnichannel distribution center and customer, across the first mile, middle mile and last mile, with focus on delivery speed, ensuring sufficient capacity for throughput and storage (via inventory modeling) in the network and improve operating efficiencies in omnichannel distribution and transportation across the network.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of 7-Eleven supply chain data and gather/ analyze the same to understand the current state of the supply chain.
  • Identify underlying patterns and business opportunities with data.
  • Participate in design, development and implementation of data science models and algorithms, with support from senior team members.
  • Support the evaluation of analytical solutions and their impact on related projects.
  • Stay informed about analytical advancements and contribute to discussions on selecting appropriate algorithms for business problems.
  • Help decompose complex problems into simpler components with input from the team.
  • Present and share machine learning and data science solutions in a clear and accessible way to peers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in internal technology and analytics discussions to build domain knowledge.
  • Manage assigned tasks and contribute to delivering high-quality solutions aligned with team standards.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work with large datasets and use tools such as Python, SQL, and data visualization libraries to support analysis and modeling.
  • Assist in defining business problems, gathering relevant data, and developing models to support recommendations.
  • Support the design and execution of experiments to test hypotheses and inform decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Planning, Design, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Finance, and Operations to explore data-driven opportunities.
  • Contribute to a team culture that values innovation, learning, and inclusiveness.
  • Develop insights through data analysis and visualization to support stakeholder understanding and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics and other related quantitative fields.
  • 2+ year experience in big data and data science
  • Prior work experience in supply chain environment is preferred
  • Experience with programming in SQL, Python, Spark, Shell Script.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a tenacious attitude.
