▶ About This Opportunity
This role is responsible for the timely preparation of fuel excise and other related tax returns, reconciliation of associated general ledger accounts, supporting jurisdictional audits, and performing tax related research.
- Timely prepare, file, and pay fuel excise and other related tax returns and reconcile general ledger accounts for assigned jurisdictions.
- Ensure reconciling items are fully documented and resolved in a timely manner.
- Support jurisdictional audits by gathering and analyzing data to provide responses to requests from taxing authorities.
- Research and stay current on changes and/or updates to tax laws and regulations for assigned jurisdictions and ensure applicable financial and tax systems are updated according to Company policy.
- Provide business support related to taxability and system configuration for fuel related products.
- Assist with tax related special projects as required in alignment with Department and Company initiatives.
- Bachelors/4 Year Degree.
- 3+ years relevant work experience.
- Motor fuel tax, fuel accounting, data analytics, Avalara Excise experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a desire to execute.
- Effective communicator; ability to work with internal customers and outside taxing authorities.
- Adaptable to growth/changing business environment.
- Independent and efficient.
