General Description:

7‑Eleven is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Analyst to join its Mergers & Acquisitions team. The M&A team plays a critical role in accelerating store development and portfolio optimization across North America, driving profitable unit growth while supporting 7‑Eleven’s digital transformation through acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships. The team also owns Acquisition Integration, overseeing transactions from diligence through integration and handoff to core operations.

The Analyst will be a key contributor to the M&A team, leading financial analysis for both store and non‑store opportunities and partnering cross‑functionally to advance strategic growth initiatives. This role requires ownership of valuation and financial modeling, site and business analyses, and due diligence across the full deal lifecycle – from prospecting and NDA through closing and integration. Additionally, it requires the ability to leverage understanding of industry operations, ownership structures and channels of trade to facilitate critical decisions on asset optimization. Analysts generate actionable insights, develop well‑reasoned assumptions, and deliver reporting and materials used by senior leadership and the Executive Committee.

Working closely with M&A leadership, Development, and teams across Digital, Delivery, Business Development, International, IT, and Operations, the Analyst will have direct exposure to senior management and the ability to influence high‑impact strategic decisions. Success in this role requires strong analytical judgment, comfort working with incomplete information, creativity in problem‑solving, and the confidence to challenge assumptions while applying 7‑Eleven’s leadership principles and agile mindset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support evaluation and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments across the 7‑Eleven portfolio
  • Conduct site, market, and competitive analyses for prospective acquisition targets
  • Build and maintain financial models, including pro formas, valuations (DCF, comps, precedents), and scenario/sensitivity analyses
  • Develop investment assumptions in partnership with Finance, Real Estate, Operations, IT, Legal, and other internal teams
  • Lead deal‑related research and due diligence; synthesize large volumes of financial and operational data for decision‑making
  • Review transaction‑related documentation and support key workstreams through deal close
  • Assist with post‑transaction integration, including analysis of remodel, rebrand, and program implementation scenarios
  • Track acquisition and divestiture activity; prepare performance reporting for senior management
  • Prepare executive‑level materials and presentations for leadership, Board of Directors, and parent company stakeholders
  • Monitor industry trends, transaction activity, and strategic growth opportunities, including partnerships, joint ventures, and minority investments
  • Support special projects such as market studies and industry assessments

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in M&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or related financial analysis roles; relevant academic coursework may be considered in lieu of professional experience
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills; solid understanding of financial statements and key metrics (EBITDA, FCF)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; strong PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Interest or experience in retail, convenience stores, real estate; technology and start-up/emerging company knowledge is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in M&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or related financial analysis roles
