The Senior Manager, Lease Accounting is responsible for leading all aspects of lease accounting and financial reporting under ASC 842, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. This role owns the end-to-end lease accounting process for a large and complex lease portfolio, including accounting interpretation, month-end close, reporting, controls, audit support, and system governance. The role will also be responsible for managing monthly US GAAP to IFRS adjustments for reporting to international parent company.

The Senior Manager leads a team of six direct reports and provides oversight and direction to a shared-service lease accounting team located in India. This position partners closely with Real Estate, Legal, Finance, Internal Audit, and external auditors to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and operational excellence.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Own and oversee all lease accounting activities under ASC 842 for real estate, equipment, vehicle, and other lease arrangements.
• Maintain lease accounting adjustments from ASC 842 to IFRS 16 for reporting to international parent company.
• Ensure accurate accounting for lease commencements, modifications, reassessments, impairments, renewals, terminations, and sale-leaseback transactions.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and other supporting documentation for month-end close.
• Oversee preparation and review of ASC 842 and IFRS 16 disclosures for external financial statements.
• Provide lease-related accounting guidance and reporting requirements for management and executive leadership.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls related to lease accounting processes.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance teams throughout the lease lifecycle.
• Partner with IT and business stakeholders on lease management system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
• Serve as primary contact for lease accounting inquiries from internal and external audit.
• Directly manage a team of two lease accounting professionals and four lease analysts.
• Oversee the India-based lease accounting team, ensuring consistency, quality, efficiency, and adherence to service-level expectations.

• EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr DegreeYEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 8+ years
• YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 3+ years
• CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: CPA preferred

• SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Strong background in managing lease accounting for a large-scale real estate lease portfolio.
• Extensive knowledge of ASC 842 and U.S. GAAP.Knowledge of IFRS 16 preferred.
