Tax Associate

This role is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the fuel tax team including the timely preparation, filing and payment of local fuel excise and other related tax returns.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Timely prepare, file, and pay local fuel excise and other related tax returns and reconcile associated general ledger accounts. Ensure reconciling items are fully documented and resolved in a timely manner.
• Prepare and provide periodic reporting of fuel tax payments to Treasury.  Support fuel tax team including preparation and tracking of check requests and manual required return filings.
• Completed miscellaneous account reconciliations, and monthly required Trintech account reconciliation certifications.
• Tack and log receipt and resolution of fuel and other related excise tax notices.
• Assist with tax related special projects as required in alignment with Department and Company initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Year Degree

• Effective communicator; ability to work with internal customers
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a desire to execute     
• Adaptable to growth/changing business environment
• Independent and efficient
