About these Opportunities: 7-Eleven Inc. has several opportunities for Summer Internships.  Each internship opportunity will occur during the summer months, (11 weeks), focused on a specific functional area, and will provide the candidate with a depth experience within the area, culminating in a project presentation to functional leaders.  Each intern will work closely with a coach who will meet regularly to discuss project progress, provide direction and ongoing feedback. In addition, each intern will attend a lunch series which will provide a cross-functional view into the organization and give the interns exposure to senior leadership.  The interns will also have the experience of touring a store and learning about our distribution systems. 

The summer intern will support the tax team by organizing data, simplifying routine tasks, and keep information flowing smoothly across finance and accounting. You’ll learn how tax processes work in a real business, assist with day-to-day activities, and contribute to small projects that make the team more efficient.

Responsibilities

• Data support: Gather information from various sources, check for accuracy, and keep records up to date.
• Process improvements: Help streamline recurring tasks like tracking deadlines, preparing inputs, and updating checklists.
• Reporting assistance: Create simple summaries and visuals to share tax and compliance updates.
• Team coordination: Work with colleagues in tax, finance, and other departments to collect details and track progress.
• Documentation: Keep clear notes, write easy guides, and record changes so work is consistent and audit-ready.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Skills: Comfortable with spreadsheets and organizing information; strong attention to detail and communication.
• ERP familiarity: Exposure to systems like Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite to look up data, run basic reports, and export files.
• Light AI exposure: Comfort using AI-powered tools to summarize documents, spot patterns, and draft checklists.
• Technical tools:Alteryx, Dataiku, and Advanced Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, conditional formatting, data validation, and basic macros).
• Process mapping tools:Lucidchart, Microsoft Visio, or similar diagramming tools to outline workflows and handoffs.
• Interest in tax: Curiosity about how companies manage taxes and compliance.
