Assistant Store Manager
Job ID 2019-62362Franchisees typically rely on the team to provide outstanding service, maintain a clean, customer friendly environment, stock and merchandise products, and operate the register. Franchisees expect everyone to demonstrate reliability, honesty, and greet customers with a smile.
What might you do?
- Provide prompt, efficient and courteous customer service
- Drive sales through effective communication with customers
- Maintain a clean, customer friendly environment in your franchisee’s store
- Perform cashier duties (ring sales and maintain cash control)
- Perform all regular cleaning activities, and other tasks included in your job assignments
- Forecast, order and stock merchandise (with appropriate training)
- Check in merchandise deliveries from vendors
What will you do ?
In general your responsibilities will include but limited to ::
- Ensure prompt, efficient and courteous guest service and effectively react to and resolve customer complaints.
- Forecast, order, stock and merchandise products (upon completion of appropriate training)
- Maintain a properly stocked, clean and friendly environment in the store
- Aid the reconciliation and completion of store operations daily paperwork
- Support the franchisee to maximize sales and profits
- Identify and resolve sales obstacles
- Management, coaching and motivation of staff
- Assist in scheduling, training and coaching to develop top performing employees
- Must be willing to be scheduled to work different shifts/days and be available to cover for absent staff
- Be willing and capable, after appropriate training, to run the store in the absence of the franchisee.
Education/Experience Required
- High school diploma or GED. University degree a definite plus.
- A minimum of two years experience in retail or fast food management.
- Strong written, oral and mathematical skills
- Valid driver licence and a reliable transpiration
Physical Functions
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for the entire shift
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from the ground to overheads up to an hour of the work day when needed.(to assistant and in stocking/maintaining inventory levels)
- Ability to push and pull with arms up to a force of 128 pounds (i.e. utilizing hand truck).
- Ability to bend at the waist.
- Will be required to occasionally climb a ladder and/or stool, kneel or crotch to store or retrieve material and/or place or remove signs.
