Social Media Marketing Specialist

This position is open to candidates across Canada. For candidates based in Surrey, the role follows a hybrid work model. For the right candidate, a fully remote arrangement may also be considered.

The Social Media Marketing Specialist represents the voice and persona of our 7-Eleven and Slurpee brands on social media. Responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of our social media content and community management, you will enhance brand visibility, engage target audiences, and drive reach.

Reporting into the Social Media Marketing Manager, as a member of the Marketing, Communications and Digital team at 7-Eleven Canada, this role brings the opportunity to flex your creative brain power in a rapidly changing environment to add real, tangible business value to a fast-growing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Social Media Marketing Manager in the development and implementation of social media channel strategies that align with 7-Eleven’s strategic business objectives to drive traffic and increase conversions instore and across online channels, including organic social, paid social, content creator and influencer strategy.

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of all social media campaigns, including coordinating with agency partners on paid content delivery and scheduling.

  • Develop and maintain monthly social media content calendars aligned with marketing campaigns, promotions and cultural moments.

  • Collaborate with in-house creative and agency partners to develop low-fi and agile content for all social media platforms (including but not limited to Meta, TikTok, X, Snapchat, LinkedIn).

  • Capture and edit low-fi social-first photo and video content when required to support real-time and agile content across platforms.

  • Support the execution of creator and influencer campaigns, including coordination, briefing, content approvals and performance tracking.

  • Monitor performance across social media channels, analyze campaign metrics and prepare regular reports with recommendations for optimization (including A/B testing and influencer strategy insights).

  • Manage day-to-day community management across all social platforms, including engaging with followers, responding to comments and direct messages, and monitoring brand sentiment.

  • Stay informed on emerging social media trends, creator content styles and platform updates to identify opportunities for the brand to participate in relevant conversations.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment focused on creativity, innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field.

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in social media marketing, preferably in retail, convenience or QSR industry. 

  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful social media campaigns that have driven engagement and follower growth.

  • Experience in influencer management and community management is an asset.

  • Proficiency with monitoring and reporting on social media performance metrics.

  • Cooperative and collaborative attitude with the ability to build internal and external relationships.

  • Ability to solve problems both independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $56,000.00 - $65,000.00 Hourly
