Transportation Recruiter

Responsible for staffing the Transportation Department within a defined geographic area; works closely with the Human Resources Advisors and Transportation personnel within area of responsibility to ensure proper execution of the Recruiting program


Responsibilities:
• Develops recruiting plans/programs that will provide adequate staffing for all areas of responsibility
• Explores and develops alternate sources of applicants by utilizing employee procurement expertise
• Recruits for employees, including Fuel Truck Drivers, and other Company units as needed
• Evaluates résumés and applications, reviews qualifications and selects candidates to contact for an interview
• Coordinates applicant screening process and additional interviews once the initial interview has been completed
• Oversees hiring of store employees and extends offers to prospective new employees where circumstance permits
• Completes required reporting of recruiting/staffing performance used to analyze/determine placement rates, turnover, compliance and areas for improvement
• Utilizes Company guidelines (pay rate and job grade charts) to determine rate of pay for open positions
• Represents Company with outside employment agencies, job fairs, employment conferences, colleges and social media contacts
• Ensures proper execution of established program, Company and government guidelines are followed during the hiring process
• Designs and prepares reports to determine candidate placement progress
• May determine appropriate candidates for open positions, based upon a complete review of screening results and references
• May ensure new employee orientation is completed
• Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by Management


Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related degree preferred


Skill Requirements:
• Demonstrated expertise with Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues
• Good understanding of intra-department functions and operations
• Ability to make day-to-day decisions, including personnel decisions, with little to no immediate supervision
• Ability to perform repeated bending, standing and reaching
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds


Additional Responsibilities:
• Available to work a variety of shifts and/or days of the week and be willing to travel within their designated area of responsibility
• Must have a valid Driver’s License from the state in which the Recruiter lives
• Must maintain automotive insurance during the course of employment
